WDOR Provides Steps to Close a Business

Closing a business can be complicated, and doing it improperly can increase costs and liability risks. Boardman Clark’s business team can help guide you through the process.

In the July 2016 issue of the Wisconsin Tax Bulletin (#194), the Wisconsin Department of Revenue (WDOR) provided a handy checklist for steps to close your business with the WDOR. These include addressing:

  1. Employee Withholding Tax
  2. Sales and Use Tax
  3. Income or Franchise Tax
  4. Other Tax Types
  5. Federal responsibilities (including a link to a similar IRS checklist).
