Job Overview

Boardman Clark is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trust and Estate Attorney to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have two to four years of experience in trust and estates, demonstrating a thorough understanding of legal principles, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record of success. The role demands keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. 

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience in both state and federal tax law and hold active certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
  • Draft and review estate planning documents tailored to individual client needs and goals.
  • Guide fiduciaries through the probate and estate administration process, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Assist with trust administration, including interpretation of trust documents and advising trustees on their duties.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and responsive service.
  • Conduct legal research on trust, estate, and tax issues to support client matters.

Attorney Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience in both state and federal tax law and hold active certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA); this is a preferred qualification, not required. 
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing with the state bar association.
  • Two to four years of experience practicing trust and estates. 
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other legal professionals and support staff.
