Job Overview

Boardman Clark seeks an attorney with experience in litigation, ideally in insurance defense, municipal representation, worker’s compensation, and/​or commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have two to five years of experience in handling cases before state and/​or federal courts, with jury trial experience as a plus. This is a great opportunity for a qualified candidate with litigation experience and interpersonal skills to step into a thriving practice. This role is hybrid with the expectation of being in-office 3 days per week.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and appellate work.
  • Draft pleadings and written discovery, brief and argue motions, conduct depositions, and appear in state and federal court before both judges and juries.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues.
  • Communicate with clients to learn about their legal needs and concerns and advise them.
  • Develop strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively for clients.
  • Build relationships with clients based on trust.
  • Stay informed about current legislation, especially concerning legal specialties.
  • Find ethical solutions to legal matters.

Attorney Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing with the state bar association.
  • 25 years of experience representing clients in litigation cases before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, with jury trial experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently or with a team of attorneys to develop case strategies.
  • Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to negotiate, research, and communicate verbally and in writing effectively.
  • Adaptability and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other legal professionals and support staff.
