Job Overview
Boardman Clark is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Attorney to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have three years’ experience in business and commercial real estate matters. This role involves providing comprehensive legal counsel to clients across a range of business and property matters, ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and supporting strategic growth. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating complex transactions, drafting and negotiating contracts, and representing clients in both advisory and dispute resolution settings.
Responsibilities
Business Law (70%):
- Provide legal counsel on business matters including contracts, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of business agreements and legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support client operations and strategic decisions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws affecting business activities.
- Stay current on developments in business law and industry trends.
- Collaborate with legal team members to deliver integrated legal solutions.
Real Estate Law (30%):
- Advise clients on commercial real estate transactions including purchases, leases, and property disputes.
- Draft, review, and negotiate real estate contracts to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct due diligence including title reviews, property inspections, and document verification.
- Ensure adherence to zoning laws, environmental regulations, and property tax requirements.
- Represent clients in negotiations with buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants.
- Manage the full lifecycle of real estate transactions from consultation to closing.
- Stay informed on changes in real estate law and conduct legal research to support case strategy.
Attorney Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active and in good standing with the state bar association.
- Three years of experience practicing business and real estate.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other legal professionals and support staff.
