With this in mind, we are searching for a self-starting Human Resources Manager who enjoys shaping the human resources direction coupled with doing the work required to ensure an outstanding employee experience! In this role, you will contribute to our Firm by:

  • Building rapport with all members of the Firm.
  • Gathering input from Firm employees and partners to better understand their employment experience and Human Resources needs.
  • Creating data informed recommendations about creating/​maintaining a culture of inclusivity, accessibility, and collaboration.
  • Bringing forth strategic Human Resources initiatives to address short and long term needs of the Firm for the Executive Committee to consider.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to Human Resources.
  • Implementing mutually agreed upon initiatives, monitoring those key performance indicators, and making recommendations to adjust the course of action as needed.
  • Ensuring that the Firm implements its diversity, equity, and inclusion policy and provides support to its DE/I employee resource group.
  • Hearing and resolving employee complaints and concerns. 
  • Conducting employee engagement surveys, identifying trends, setting priorities, and crafting strategies to address opportunities of improvement. 
  • Executing the administration of HR programs including, but not limited to, setting the Human Resources department budget, hiring and selection, performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale management, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; training and development and off boarding.

To be successful in the role, you will bring:

  • 5+ years of human resource management experience required. Preferred industry experience in a professional services setting.
  • Experience in a hands-on HR role is required. Someone who is self-starting and enjoys both shaping the direction as well as doing the work is required.
  • Ability to work as a solo HR practitioner is required. 
  • Ability to listen effectively and address situations with a high level of emotional intelligence, solid judgement, and confidentiality is required.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, work independently, work on many matters simultaneously, and demonstrate organizational skills is required.
  • Ability to effectively build rapport with employees and partners is required.
  • Ability to study HR trends and/​or address new and unique HR situations is required. Someone who is innovative in these efforts is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate many thought leaders, identify the best path forward, and bring the recommendation to the Executive Committee is required.
  • Ability to recognize where employees and partners are in the change cycle and guide them forward in that change is required.
  • Ability to work in the Madison office 4 days/​week and the remaining day remotely to start, is required.
  • SHRMCP and/​or PHR Certification is preferred.
  • WI Driver’s license is required.
